Turbo Manifolds

Steam-pipe construction, machined flanges, collectors built three ways — the turbo manifold line inside the manifold family.

A turbo manifold carries the turbocharger, holds it against the cylinder head through every heat cycle the engine produces, and routes each cylinder's exhaust into the turbine. This line builds those manifolds as steam-pipe constructions in SS304: thick-wall tube for the runners, billet flanges machined to the head, and collectors formed by whichever of the three production routes — casting, wire cutting or printed tooling — the merge geometry needs.

Construction: Runners, Collectors, Flanges

Runners are bent and welded on fixtures that hold the turbo flange in its installed position, so the finished manifold presents the turbo exactly where the engine bay expects it. After welding, flange faces are machined flat: a turbo manifold that leaves the fixture warped will not seal, and the machining pass is what makes the joint a gasket joint rather than a hope.

Collectors are the merge point of the design. Cast collectors serve the production designs, wire-cut collectors serve tight merges, and printed tooling serves prototypes and low-volume programs while a design settles.

Engines the Line Is Built Around

Production centres on the BMW S58, B58 and N54 sixes, the Audi and Volkswagen RS3 and EA888 applications, and the Japanese straight sixes — 1JZ, 2JZ, RB25 and RB26 — where the cast Schedule 40 manifold for the 2JZ application is the family's documented worked example. Porsche and Lamborghini applications sit in the super manifold line named on the category page.

Send the engine code and the turbo you intend to run. The flange pattern and collector are specified against both: a manifold is a joint between an engine and a turbo, and the confirmation checks both faces.

Finishes and Heat Management

Turbo manifolds live in the hottest corner of the engine bay. The finish options answer accordingly: ceramic coating for heat management, brushed or polished stainless where appearance leads, and heat shields where the application is listed with them. The finish is part of the order specification and is applied before the manifold is packed, not left to the installer.
