EA888 Intake Manifold
The billet line's worked example: mirror-polished manifold and matched fuel rail for the EA888 Gen 3 cars.
The EA888 intake manifold is the billet line's documented example: an aluminium billet intake manifold with a fuel-rail kit, in mirror-polished finish for the Audi A3 and S3 on the EA888 Gen 3 and the Golf MK7 2.0. Its documentation is complete — construction, kit contents, finish and applications all named — and it shows how the manifold and rail are supplied as one specification.
The neighbouring documented application is the 1.8T kit: a 70 mm left-facing billet manifold with fuel-rail kit for the MK4 Jetta, Golf GTI and Beetle. Both are machined parts for named engines, ordered by application.

Manifold and Rail as One Specification
The point of the kit is that the rail belongs to the manifold. Injector positions, rail fittings and the manifold's flange faces are machined to one drawing, so the fuel side and the air side of the part arrive as a single specification. Buyers building an EA888 program order the kit against the injector and throttle specification of their build, and the confirmation checks the kit against that specification before quoting.
Mirror polish is the listed finish for this application. On a billet manifold the finish is not cosmetic-only: the part sits on top of the engine, in full view, and in the documented applications it is finished as the display piece it is.
| Element | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Manifold | Aluminium billet, mirror polished | Machined for the EA888 Gen 3 |
| Fuel rail | Kit supplied with the manifold | Fittings matched to the manifold drawing |
| Applications | Audi A3, S3 (EA888 Gen 3); Golf MK7 2.0 | Documented fitments |
| Neighbouring kit | 1.8T billet manifold, left-facing rail kit | 70 mm layout |
Fitment Notes for the EA888 Application
The Gen 3 designation matters: the manifold is machined for that generation's port layout and throttle position, and earlier or later generations are not interchangeable with it. The inquiry therefore asks for the generation and the car, and the confirmation names both back — a small discipline that prevents the most common intake manifold error, which is ordering the right manifold for the wrong generation of the right engine. The billet line the EA888 kit belongs to is machined rather than cast across its applications: the 90 mm manifold for the Nissan TB48, supplied with fuel rail and throttle body; the machined billet manifold for the Nissan GT-R R35; and the 1.8T kit for the MK4 Jetta, Golf GTI and Beetle, a 70 mm layout with a left-facing fuel rail.
Car and engine names here are fitment references for the part: the manifold is a Torvane-built component for those applications.
The generation point generalises across the intake family: every documented application is a named engine in a named generation, and fitment is held at that resolution deliberately. A buyer whose engine is the same code in a different generation should still ask — the answer may be a documented kit, an adaptation, or development — but the answer will be given at the same resolution, so the program is never built on a generation assumption.
Ordering the EA888 Kit
Send the car, the engine generation, and the injector and throttle specification of the build. The reply confirms the kit contents against that specification, states the finish, and quotes. Programs covering both documented Volkswagen Group applications — EA888 and 1.8T — can be carried on one inquiry, priced kit by kit.
