Performance Exhaust Systems

Exhaust Manifolds & Headers

One family, two jobs: turbo manifolds that carry the turbocharger, and headers that scavenge a naturally aspirated engine.

The manifold is where the exhaust system starts, and it is the part that has to match the engine exactly: port shape, flange pattern, turbo position and runner routing are all engine-specific. This family is built in SS304 throughout — flanges included — and covers both sides of the manifold trade: steam-pipe turbo manifolds for forced-induction engines and long-tube headers for engines that breathe on their own.

Every design starts from the original part. The OEM manifold or the cylinder head is scanned, the flange is machined to the port profile, and the runners are routed on a fixture that holds the turbo or the collector exactly where the engine bay puts it. The fitment groups below are the ones in current production; engine codes outside them go through the custom development routes.

Turbo Manifolds for Forced-Induction Engines

Turbo manifolds are built as steam-pipe constructions: thick-wall tube, welded on fixtures, with collectors formed by casting, wire cutting and printed tooling. The flange faces are machined flat after welding so the joint seals against the head and the turbo without fighting the part.

The turbo manifold program is anchored by the engines the range is ordered for: BMW S58, B58 and N54 sixes, the Audi and Volkswagen RS3 and EA888 applications, and the Japanese straight-six line — 1JZ, 2JZ, RB25 and RB26. Turbo manifold construction is set out in full with the turbo manifolds, and the 2JZ manifold is the best-documented fitment in the family.

Long-Tube Headers for Naturally Aspirated Engines

Where there is no turbo to carry, the manifold's job is scavenging, and the answer in this range is the long-tube header: runners routed with equal attention to length, brought together in a merged collector, built in the same SS304 and finished brushed, polished or ceramic coated. The catalogue's documented example is the long-tube header set for the Audi S4 and S5 3.0 TFSI; the long-tube fitments in production, and how new ones are added, are listed with the headers themselves.

Flanges, Collectors and Finishes

Flanges are billet, milled on multi-axis machining centres to match OEM cylinder-head profiles — the detail that decides whether a manifold bolts up cleanly or has to be persuaded. Collectors combine casting, wire cutting and 3D printing depending on the merge geometry the design needs.

Finishes for this family are ceramic coating for heat management, brushed or polished stainless for appearance, and heat shields where the application calls for them. The finish is specified on the order and applied before the manifold leaves the fixture room.

Fitment Groups in Current Production

BMW applications centre on the S58, B58 and N54 engines. Audi and Volkswagen applications cover the RS3 five-cylinder and the EA888 family. The super manifold line serves Porsche 911 and Lamborghini applications, and the JDM line covers the 1JZ, 2JZ, RB25 and RB26 straight sixes. If your engine is adjacent to one of these groups, send the engine code: adjacent fitments are often a flange program away, and the reply will say whether it is a production item or a development job.
