Charge Pipes & Boost Pipes
One kit, two names in the trade: the pressure-side pipework between turbo, intercooler and throttle, kitted per engine and chassis.
Charge pipes carry pressurised air from the turbocharger through the intercooler to the throttle. The trade calls the same kits charge pipes and boost pipes — both names are used for the same kits — and they are treated as one family because they are one kit. Turbo inlet pipes and discharge pipes belong to the same family and are covered here and on the inlet pipe page.
This family is supplied through the order book rather than the standing website catalogue, so kit contents and fitment are confirmed for each engine and chassis combination on inquiry. The documented kits are for BMW, Mini and Volkswagen Group turbo engines. Send the engine and chassis; the kit for that combination is confirmed item by item before quoting — that confirmation is part of the product.

What a Charge Pipe Kit Contains
A kit is the pipe run for one engine and chassis: the pressure pipes between turbo outlet, intercooler and throttle inlet, with the bends, beads and joint faces that let the hoses and clamps of the car seat correctly. Inlet pipes and discharge pipes are listed with the kits they belong to, and intercooler-plus-charge-pipe kits appear in the listings for the applications where the two are ordered together.
Piping is aluminium on most documented kits, with titanium piping appearing in the listings as well. The material for a given kit is a listing fact, confirmed on inquiry rather than assumed.
| Kit element | Function | Documented for |
|---|---|---|
| Charge / boost pipe set | Pressure-side pipe run for one engine and chassis | BMW B58, N55, N20; Mini F-series; VW MQB |
| Turbo inlet pipe | Intake-side pipe feeding the turbo | B58 F-series; B48 applications |
| Discharge pipe | Turbo outlet side of the run | MQB / EA888 applications |
| Intercooler + pipe kit | Cooler and pipework ordered together | N55 F-series applications |
Documented Fitments: BMW, Mini and Volkswagen
The combinations in production are these. BMW: B58 F-series charge and inlet pipes for the 340i, 440i and 540i; N55 intercooler and charge pipe kits for the F20, F30 and F32; N20 charge and boost pipe kits for the F2X and F3X cars. Mini: charge and boost pipes for the Cooper S across the F45 to F57 range. Volkswagen: MQB charge and discharge pipes for the Golf 7 on the EA888 engine, and B48 inlet pipes.
The B58 page is the family's worked detail example. For combinations near the documented ones — a sibling chassis on the same engine, for instance — send both codes and ask: the reply states whether the kit exists, adapts, or is a development job.
How Fitment Is Confirmed for This Family
Because these kits are order-book items, confirmation is a step in the order, not a catalogue lookup. Send the vehicle, engine code and chassis code. The workshop matches them against the documented kits and replies with the kit contents for your combination — pipes, joints and material — so what is quoted is a named kit, not a promise that something can be made to fit.
Where no kit is documented, the development routes apply exactly as they do for exhaust parts: a sample pipe set can be replicated, or a kit can be developed from data. The inquiry reply will say which route your combination takes.
